Background

The Namib Desert is the oldest desert on earth and is probably 55 million years old!

It almost never rains and yet there are lots of animals living there. How can that be?

The answer to that is fog!!!  Wind blows into the desert from the sea and the wind carries lots of water.

This forms a thick fog and that is where the animals and plants get their water !!

This picture shows a baby antelope that was lost in the desert.  The people we were staying with found the baby and looked after her!  Here you can see the baby drinking milk from a bottle !
